Martin Yew
Martin Yew is a filmmaker, director, scriptwriter and freelance cameraman and editor. He loves random off-beat films, anything original and a bit different, but isn't adverse to a bit of big budget special fx action or some stupid comedies. Loves his music too - all genres, but 80s/90s hip hop and 90s jungle hold a soft spot in his heart.
If you want to collaborate on any film projects, hire out his film services or just send him childish or abusive emails you can contact him at m_yfilms@yahoo.co.uk

Still Life Part One and Still Life Part Two
STILL LIFE. 4 inmates from the DRUG REHABILITATION UNIT at HMP Wayland wanted to make a film which would raise awareness on DRUGS. Through 4 very personal stories we are taken in their world of...PAIN, FUN, LOSS, VIOLENCE, BOREDOM, HOPE, ANGER & ADDICTION. Filmed in 2003-2004. Shout out to John Row who was the facilitator on this project. Copyright M.Y Fillms 2005. Article from The Guardian on the project http://society.guardian.co.uk/print/0,3858,4476398-105909,00.html

hep C part 1 & hep C part 2
Hep C - Bang 2 Rights.
This was the second project that I made at HMP Wayland ("Still Life" being the first). Basically, its a Hepatitis C awareness video - but more importantly it was the first video in UK prison history to be made by inmates for inmates. This video was distributed to every prison in the UK. Apparently it got a "rewind" at HMP Wormwood Scrubs - damn, they must be bored in jail! =) The basic outline was scripted by the inmates and I came in and helped them develop it further. It was shot in 5 days - which in prison terms is pretty good, as they can put all the inmates on lockdown without any notice whatsoever. This bascially means stopping filming and packing up all your gear and going home. One day, whilst filming "Still Life", I turned up real early in the morning and wasn't even allowed into the prison because of a lockdown. Copyright M.Y Films 2003. Music by Beeba - www.myspace.com/beeba1 and Marcus Harris - www.myspace.com/tonecontrolmusic. Shout out to John Row who was the facilitator on this project. www.johnrow.com
