CannedFilm has been setup to provide an online resource for filmmakers. It will act as a platform for East of England filmmakers to exhibit their work both online, and to a live audience through its touring regional screening nights.

CannedFilm wants to promote the work of short filmmakers, animators, and video artists from around East Anglia; and by doing so will help to show the world the diverse breadth of talent we have in our region.

As part of the service we will develop an online talent database for both cast and crew, and a database of accessible equipment for production purposes.

Other resources such as links to royalty free music/video/sfx sites, as well as other independent film groups will also be available.

In the future we also hope to provide accessible training courses in subjects such as video editing and scriptwriting. The provision of which to begin with will be through a third party.

CannedFilm is dedicated to the promotion of the moving image as an art form that transform lives; not just those taking part in the production but also through the enrichment of the audience experience where a challenging piece of work can alter perceptions and lead to greater awareness and cohesion between communities and individuals.
